Seven (7) Expression of Interest Files were submitted in the first phase of the Tender for the PPP project “Construction of Courthouses in Edessa, Serres, Kilkis and reconstruction of Thessaloniki Courthouse and their maintenance and management through PPPs”, as announced by the Ministry of Development.
With the completion of the process of awarding the Partnership Agreement, the private body will undertake the design, financing, construction and technical management of the Courthouses of Edessa, Serres and Kilkis as well as the reconstruction of the building facilities of the Courthouse of Thessaloniki.
The main purpose of the project is:
a) the modernization of the infrastructure for the more correct, faster and more efficient operation of the judicial services;
(b) the concentration of services; and
(c) the restoration of the housing of court functions located in obsolete buildings, which present serious technical and operational problems, as well as risks to the health of workers.
The Deputy Minister of Development and Investments in charge of PPPs, Mr. Nikos Papathanasis, stated: “The large participation in the Call for Expressions of Interest of this project demonstrates the attractiveness and dynamics of PPP development projects. judicial services for the benefit of their employees and especially of the citizens “.
