Against her return Angela Merkel the chancellor was chosen by the vast majority of Germans in an online poll conducted by the Civey institute on behalf of the publishing group Funke Media Group.
Particularly, 71% of respondents said they would not want Merkel to return to powerwho left the chancellorship last year after 16 years at the helm Germany.
23% of Germans who took part in the poll favored Merkel’s return to the helm of Europe’s largest economy.
However, about 43% of respondents said they thought conservative Merkel did a better job than Germany’s current chancellor. On the contrary, 41% considered that the performance of the social democrat Olaf Solz is better than that of Merkel.
The Civey poll was conducted online on November 24 among a representative sample of 5,003 German voters.
