Sepultura drummer's departure announced on the eve of farewell tour

This Tuesday (27), the Sepultura shared the departure of drummer Eloy Casagrande , who decided to “pursue a career in another project”. Through their social networks, the band also revealed that the American Greyson Nekrutman will be the replacement who will take over the drumsticks for the next 18 months.

The announcement was made just a few days before the “Celebrating Life Through Death” farewell tour begins. In the publication, Sepultura also mentioned that they were taken by surprise on February 6th when they received the former member's decision.

“The band was taken by surprise, without prior notice or any kind of debate about how to make the transition. The communication was made by him and he immediately left the band, abandoning everything related to Sepultura”, appears in an excerpt.

About the new member, who will debut on March 1st, the band says: “Fortunately, the virtuoso American drummer Greyson Nekrutman will take over the role and will be welcomed as a new member of the band on the “Celebrating Life Through Death” farewell tour”.

The farewell tour also celebrates the metal band's 40th anniversary and therefore, 40 countries were chosen for the final performances over the next eighteen months.

The “Celebrating Life Through Death” tour will start on March 1st, at Arena Hall, in Belo Horizonte. Afterwards, the group continues other cities in Brazil United States and other countries in Latin America and Europe.
