The miniseries “Senna” was voted the best series of 2024 in APCA Award (São Paulo Association of Art Critics). Launched in November, Netflix’s national production portrays the pilot’s life and career Ayrton Senna (1960-1994) over six episodes.
“It is very beautiful to follow the great trajectory of “Senna”. After seeing the miniseries being embraced by audiences around the world, receiving recognition from an award as traditional as the APCA and in a category with so many incredible productions is crowning one of the most beloved and important projects in our history”, celebrated producer Caio Gullane.
A month after its release, the miniseries was nominated for the Critics Choice Awards in the category Best Series in a Foreign Language. You Prize winners will be announced on February 7 after some postponements due to the fires in Los Angeles.
The miniseries begins with the beginning of the three-time champion’s racing career, when he moves to England to compete in Formula Ford, and continues until the tragic accident in Imola, Italy, during the San Marino GP.
“Senna” is starred by Gabriel Leone which brings the Brazilian driver to life on screen. Names like Julia Foti , Alice Wegmann , Kaya Scodelario , Matt Mella , Hugo Bonemer , Marco Ricca and more make up the cast.
