Five men held hostage inside a detention center in Russia’s southern Rostov region claim to be Islamic State supporters, Baza, a Telegram channel with sources in Russian law enforcement, reported. The Russian Federal Penitentiary Service announced that inmates at the detention center have taken two employees hostage. “The detention center is operating normally, the situation is under control,” the agency said. He added that law enforcement forces have been deployed to the scene. Several prisoners took prison staff hostage and filmed them in Russia’s Rostov pre-trial detention facility.
