The hope of a reopening before Easter is of very few. Even those who can return to orange from Monday 29 March do not expect to see their children again in the classroom for only the three days that separate the start of the week from the Easter holidays. With most regions in the red, 8 out of 10 students, including nursery, kindergarten and elementary children are at home. For the little ones, however, there is the hope of a return to school after Easter, starting from 7 April.
Already in recent days, Prime Minister Mario Draghi he had said: «As far as I’m concerned, the school will be the first to reopen when the contagion situation allows it.
It will be the first activity to be reopened, at least resuming school attendance up to sixth grade ”. This already applies to the orange areas, where there are no local ordinances.
For the red zone, the Minister for Equal Opportunities gave a signal, Elena Bonetti: «Already after Easter I believe that in the red zone, thanks to the increase in vaccinations, we must reassess the possibility of reopening the kindergarten and at least the primary school». It would be a change with respect to the rules in force so far for the red areas desired by many and aimed at children, but also for the parents of those who cannot stay at home alone.
To raise awareness of the government on the subject were the events of the last few days which involved children and young people from nursery school to high school. For March 26 the School Priority Committee, the Cobas and the precarious have called a day of “strike from the dad” for everyone.

Outbreaks in the classroom are below 7% and the frequency of transmission from boy to teacher is statistically insignificant. On the other hand, contagion in the teacher’s room is four times more frequent, as in a normal office, this is because strict protocols have been maintained in the classrooms.
If something is moving for the little ones so it is not for those who go to middle school and especially high school. For the older ones, the hopes of returning to attendance later Easter they seem minimal. They weren’t even before, if not 50%, even in the orange areas. University minister Cristina Messa then said that in the universities they will not resume lessons in presence after Easter except for freshmen and in any case on the basis of infections.
Some regions have already chosen autonomous management routes. In South Tyrol middle school is open and swabs are done twice a week like in elementary school. The same method should be applied for high school after Easter. In Liguria, president Toti extended the 100% dad for high school until March 31st. Children from nursery school to elementary school are in class in the orange areas in Umbria, while in Abruzzo they are in remote teaching from elementary school upwards even if the region is orange.
