São Paulo City Hall asks Health to reduce the isolation time of people with Covid

The city of São Paulo sent this Thursday (6) a letter to the Ministry of Health asking for the reduction of isolation time for people with Covid-19 in the city who are asymptomatic and with a complete vaccination schedule.

To corroborate the request, the city claims that the population is “fully vaccinated”. Currently, the standard isolation period for people who test positive for Covid-19 is ten days – the letter asks that this period be reduced to five days.

“In this context of high vaccination rates in the city, with a consequent decrease in disease severity and lethality, considering the publication of the American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which reduced the recommended time of isolation in case of positive result for Covid-19, in vaccinated people, from ten to five days, in asymptomatic patients”, says an excerpt of the letter obtained by the CNN.

On Wednesday, the city of Rio de Janeiro reduced the isolation time from ten to five days for asymptomatic people who tested positive for Covid-19.
