Amadeus says it clearly: the music must go on and, with it, the Sanremo Festival, which confirms the appointment for the 71st edition, the “70 + 1” as underlined by the artistic director at the press conference, from 2 to 6 March 2021 on Raiuno. As usual, however, the announcement of the artists who will perform at the Ariston Theater precedes the broadcast by about two and a half months, increasing the adrenaline and the expectation around the event that, especially after a global pandemic, all they wait with trepidation. The number of participants goes from 24 last year to 26 in the incoming one, alerting the public who already fear the closing of the live shows after one in the morning, but at the same time feeding the spectrum of voices and the variety that is required every time at the Festival.

The first names announced by Amadeus during the final of Sanremo Young, the one that designates the participants of the New Proposals that will clash in March directly in Sanremo, seem, in fact, to please everyone a little, tradition and innovation, the pop share and the indie share: from the return of Francesco Renga to the debut of Coma_Cose; from Gaia and Irama of Amici to Fulminacci and Madame; by Willie Peyote a Orietta Berti, who returns to Sanremo for the twelfth time. All this while guaranteeing a particularly well-thought-out heterogeneity, a cunning way that can catch diametrically opposed age groups and tastes, which has always been the stylistic feature of a well thought-out Sanremo Festival.
