Born in California in 1959, he showed his great passion for music since he was a child. At seven he received his first electric guitar as a gift andn fourth grade he formed his first band. Her real professional career began in 1979 with Omega: since then, Stef Burns has collaborated with many internationally renowned artists, including Michael Bolton, Berlin, Sheila E., Alice Cooper and Huey Lewis and the News.

But his name became famous in Italy thanks to his collaboration with Vasco Rossi: the rocker from Zocca, bewitched by his ability, wanted him in his band since 1995. Since then, Stef Burns has accompanied the artist on all his tours and albums, and has become one of his most faithful and appreciated musicians. His electric guitar, one Fender Stratocaster has become a true symbol of Vasco's sound.

Steve Burns has also released five solo albums, and founded two musical projects: the Stef Burns Leaguea rock-blues-funk band, and the Heroes and Monstersan acoustic duo with singer-songwriter and pianist Juan van Emmerloot.

In Italy, Steve Burns also found love: after marrying an American woman, with whom he had two children, Taylor and Woody, he got married to the former showgirl Maddalena Corvaglia, with whom he had a daughter, Jamie Carlyn. The marriage, celebrated in 2011 by Vasco Rossi as the mayor's delegate, ended in 2017.
