The singer from São Paulo Sandy Leah , 41, announced that he will take a break from his career after two shows in aid of victims of the storms in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, with ticket sales completely reversed. The announcements were made on Tuesday night (7) via social media.
“I've already helped several times, I've done some publicity too, about ways to help, but I felt like I could do more and that I needed to do more,” he said.
The singer explained that the two shows will be a kind of farewell to the public.
“I was about to announce two show dates, because I wanted to announce a break, that I'm going to take a 'hiatus' from the stage, but I wanted to say a better goodbye to my audience, I wanted to be close, to give a loud hug, and I decided to give new meaning to this time”.
“I know, my dear fans, that you will be so happy to be a part of this,” Sandy added.
The two shows will be held at Espaço Unimed, in Barra Funda, in the west of São Paulo, on the 15th and 16th of June. Tickets go on sale next Friday (10).
In addition to Sandy, several national influencers and artists have also mobilized to raise funds to help Rio Grande do Sul. Some international artists also started asking for help on Monday (6).
The state had almost 80% of its cities affected by storms in the last ten days, according to a report released by the state's Civil Defense on Tuesday afternoon (7).
