Samyang has unveiled the AF 50mm F1.4 FE Series II full-frame lens with Sony E mount. The new product is released to coincide with the company’s 50th anniversary.
According to the manufacturer, the Samyang AF 50mm F1.4 FE Series II is the lightest and smallest among the 50mm f / 1.4 lenses equipped with a Sony E mount.
Benefits of the lens include a weather-resistant metal construction and a textured focusing ring that can be used as a continuously variable aperture ring by simply flipping the Custom switch on the side of the lens. Next to the switch is the Focus Hold button, which can be used to lock focus on a subject, or to activate custom settings such as Eye AF, etc. By the way, focusing is done with a linear stepper motor.
