From this Friday (11th) until the 22nd of November, the French part of the Island of São Martinho, Saint-Martin in the Caribbean, celebrates the 2nd edition of the Festival de La Gastronomie 🇧🇷
The event brings together chefs from different countries, including Brazil, who prepare gastronomic workshops with menus that will be offered at participating restaurants in the region.
In this edition, the menus follow a common theme: the plantain a popular ingredient in Caribbean cuisine.
Promoted by the Saint-Martin Tourist Office, the festival also has cooking classes for adults and children, barbecue and mixology competitions and dinners for four or six hands 🇧🇷
The participating public can still vote for their favorite restaurants, which will be elected as “public favorites”.
In addition to local chefs, professionals from France, Martinique, Brazil, Canada, Ghana and the United States participate in the festival.
Brazil is represented by Rafael Pires chef of Mia Restaurant in straps (MG), which comes from the École des Arts Culinaires de l’Institut Paul Bocuse.
Michelin-starred French Nicolas Sale sponsor of the event, and Laurent Huguet are also confirmed.
Saint-Martin is a French overseas territory that occupies the northern side of the island and covers about 53 km², in which it is considered a gastronomic capital of the caribbean🇧🇷
