The original argument of Spirited: the spirit of the holidays tells the story of a greedy and selfish man named Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation after being visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve. However, this new production gives the story a twist, as everything will be told from the perspective of the Ghost of Christmas Present, played by Ferrell.

In this adaptation, written by Sean Anders and John Morris, the man whom the Ghost of Christmas Present will choose is Clint Briggs, a character Reynolds brings to life, playing an uptight businessman undergoing a major transformation.
