A Russian strategic bomber tu-22m3 fell in the Irkutsk region in southeastern Siberia due to a technical defect.
The information was confirmed by local governor Igor Kobzev, on Wednesday (2).
The plane crashed during a routine flight near the village of Buret, in the district of Usalsk, without causing damage to civil structures, Kobzev wrote on his channel on Telegram.
The four crew were ejected and one of them died.
Kobzev did not report the exact cause of the accident.
The Tupolev Tu-22m3, or “Backfire C” in NATO coding, is a long-range supersonic missile conveyor bomber.
