Russia’s state TV channel Russia24 on Friday (12) called Joe Biden’s mistake when he called Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky “President Putin” “a disgrace”. The report went on to say “it only indicates his state at the moment”.
US President Joe Biden mistakenly referred to Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky as “President Putin” — a mistake later corrected during Biden’s speech at the NATO summit in Washington.
“And now I want to turn it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination, ladies and gentlemen, President Putin,” Biden said, referring to Zelensky.
“You’re going to defeat President Putin, President Zelensky. I’m very focused on defeating Putin,” Biden said as he corrected himself.
Biden has been under intense scrutiny in recent days and has faced questions, including from members of his own Democratic Party, about his re-election chances after a weak and shaky debate performance late last month against Republican former President Donald Trump.
