Russian state-owned company Gazprom said on Saturday that it would ship 42.7 million cubic meters of natural gas to Europe via Ukraine.
The move comes hours after an announcement that flows from the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to Germany would not resume.
The percentage sent through the Sudzha entry point has increased compared to the 41.3 mcm Gazprom sent on Friday (2), but not enough to compensate for the lack of gas that was supposed to be pumped through the Nord Stream. 1.
Gazprom had reported the detection of an oil leak in the equipment during equipment maintenance work and would not be able to resume flows. No deadline has been set for fixing the issue.
Siemens Energy, which normally services the pipeline, explained that this leak should not prevent the pipeline from operating. He also said that the Portovaya compressor station, where the leak was discovered, has other turbines to keep Nord Stream 1 operating.
