Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova announced today that 6.8 million Russian citizens have received both doses of Russian Sputnik V vaccine, while 1.1 million have received the first dose.
Russia, Golikova said, has produced 27.9 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine and 15 million have been made available to the domestic market.
8,840 new cases and 398 deaths
Russia says 8,840 new coronavirus cases have been reported in the past 24 hours, including 2,502 in Moscow, bringing the total number of national cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,744,961.
The government’s pandemic management said 398 people had died from covid-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 107,501.
The Russian Statistical Service, in its own separate count, has reported more than 225,000 deaths between April 2020 and February 2021.
