The streaming platform Netflix announced, this Tuesday (21), a new series based on a work by the author Harlan Coben . Adapted from “Run Away” book released in 2019, the production stars James Nesbitt (“Cold Feet”), Minnie Driver (“Good Will Hunting”), Ruth Jones (“Gavin Stacey”) and Brazilian Alfred Enoch (“Harry Potter”).
The series will have eight episodes in total. In the plot, Nesbitt stars as Simon, a seemingly lucky man with a loving wife and children, a great job and a beautiful house. But then his eldest daughter Paige runs away, and everything falls apart. When Simon finds a vulnerable, drug-addicted Paige in a city park, he finally has the chance to bring his little girl home.
The work is in production and does not yet have a release date.
Earlier this year, Netflix released “What I Miss You Makes Me”, also by Harlan Coben. The production centers on detective Kat Donovan, who comes across an internet profile that brings up emotions repressed for decades and makes her world fall apart. Upon discovering that her ex-fiancé has become a widower, Kat is filled with hope and wonders if this would be the moment when the tragedies of the past would stop haunting her and a new life would open up in front of her.
