Farofa da Gkay has a costume party on Tuesday night (5), the second day of the party that should last until Wednesday (6). A list of rules given to guests regarding tonight’s attire went viral on social media.
“The second day of Farofa will be IN COSTUME with the theme MEMES! The intention is to be fun and VIRAL! It’s supposed to be a wonderful joke! But I need your help!”, says the leaflet with the rules.
Check out what the guests were prohibited from doing:
“Please, you CANNOT wear costumes of:
- Blackface (painting your face to imitate a black person, even if it is to “pay homage”)
- Indigenous (unless you are, in fact, an indigenous person)
- Disabled people
- Religious costumes (no one needs to attack anyone’s faith. Even though it may be funny to many, it isn’t)
- Nothing that humiliates or could hurt another person’s image, such as sexualization of professions (sexy nurse, for example)
- Incitement to political candidates, death, harassment, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, racism, Nazism.
YOU CAN! I believe!”
