Former Menudo member Roy Rossello shared on his social networks an emotional part of the new episode of the Peacock TV documentary series, “Menendez + Menudo Boys Betrayed”.
In the video, Raul Reyes, Ray Reyes’ brother, appears delivering his brother’s ashes to Roy.
“Ray Reyes was more than a friend, he was and is a brother to me! Ray was always there when I needed support and his words of wisdom got me through many difficult times. Raul Reyes, my friend and brother, thank you for your words of support and encouragement… There are friends who are closer than a brother”, he wrote in the caption of the post a quote from “Proverbs”.
Ray Reyes passed away on April 30, 2021, aged 51, at his home in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico. The cause of death was not disclosed.
The documentary, released on Tuesday (2) on NBC, also touched on other subjects about the boyband of the 1970s and 1980s.
In the production, Roy Rossello also claims to have been sexually abused by the band’s creator, Edgard Díaz, and music executive Jose Menendez.
“For me, the time has come to hand over responsibility to the authorities,” he says in the documentary.
The series also shows the moment when Roy denounced Edgard Díaz to the police. “It’s something I should have done a long time ago. I know I’m doing the right thing because a part of me died years ago. I was 14 when I went through a horrible experience,” said Rossello.
