The RT-Invest company, which is a subsidiary of the state corporation Rostec, has officially announced its plan to create the largest recycling polymer processing plant in Russia. The capacity of the future enterprise reaches 100 thousand tons per year, which, according to the authors of the project, is twice as much as that of any existing or planned plant in the country. And today, on November 8, RT-Invest together with the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region signed an agreement on the construction of the future giant, for which an impressive amount will be allocated.
Initially, at the end of May, Andrei Shipelov, the head of RT-Invest, reported that the total investment in the construction of the plant was 6 billion rubles, but after the signing of the agreement, Ekaterina Zinovyeva, the head of the Moscow Region ministry, reported that the volume of investments had already grown to 10 billion. As a result, this plant will produce the so-called secondary “green” granule from plastic containers and various packaging – it meets the food standard and is suitable for the production of plastic bottles, food packaging and even children’s toys. Moreover, the same granule can be used for the production of building materials, fabrics, polymer pipes and more.
Even before the start of construction and the signing of the agreement, Andrei Shipelov reported that these products would not be inferior to primary granules in terms of their characteristics and properties. And large manufacturers like Mars, PepsiCo and Danone are extremely interested in these products – they want to use recycled plastic in the production of their food products by 2025. And given the plan to launch the plant in 2023, the Russian giant will be able to meet their requests.
“By 2025, RT-Invest will enter the top 10 largest polymer processors in Europe,” said Andrey Shipelov.
