Rosa Weber sends PGR to express its opinion on investigation against Pacheco and other senators

Minister Rosa Weber, acting president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), sent to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) a crime report presented by Senator Alessandro Vieira (PSDB-SE) in which he accuses the President of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), and senators Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP) and Marcos do Val (Podemos-ES) for crimes of corruption involving amendments to the so-called “secret budget”.

“(…) Before any action, I determine the opening of the case file to the Attorney General’s Office, who is responsible for forming the opinio delicti in facts within the competence of this Supreme Court, for manifestation within the regimental period. Brasília, July 12, 2022”, said the minister.

In the document, the congressman cites as a fact the statement made by Senator Marcos do Val, in an interview given to Estado de S.Paulo, that he received R$ 50 million in amendments to the so-called secret budget for having supported Rodrigo Pacheco’s campaign for the presidency. of the Senate in February 2021.

In the crime news presented by Vieira, the senator asks for the investigation of the case and says that offering amendments “sets an indirect advantage and must be repudiated”.
