In 2015, a video went viral on YouTube in which about 1,000 musicians played the song “Learn to Fly”, by the Foo Fighters .
The initiative with the “biggest rock band in the world” was an attempt – which turned out to be successful – to convince the group to Dave Grohl to book a show in the Italian city of Cesena.
With success, the project “Rockin’ 1000” consolidated and, in October of this year, it will perform in South America for the first time.
It was announced this Wednesday (3), that the show will take place on October 1st, in São Paulo, at the Allianz Parque stadium.
For those who wish to participate, “Rockin’ 1000” has opened registrations for Brazilian musicians to participate. The form can be accessed on this website.
Tickets for those who wish to attend will be sold from next Wednesday (10), starting at R$ 79, by Fever platform.
“With applications already open, Rockin’1000 is looking for and inviting guitarists, bassists, drummers and singers of all ages and genres to apply for a unique opportunity: to play together with 1,000 musicians at Allianz Parque, in São Paulo”, said the organizers of the event.
The presentation will take place on a 360º stage, on which, over the course of two hours, tributes and rock classics will be played, including the Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Led Zeppelin and Queen, according to organization.
“Brazil has always had a rock soul and a strong inclination towards live music; this is probably the reason why since our birth we have received so much affection and so many invitations to play in this country”, said the founder of “Rockin’ 1000”, Fabio Zaffagnini in a press release.
