Rock in Rio makes hotel occupancy reach 80% in the city of Rio

Rock in Rio already moves hotels in the city of Rio de Janeiro. According to the industry association, HotéisRIO, the average number of rooms booked on show dates is 80%. For the first weekend, September 2nd to 4th, occupancy is 77%. In the second, between the 8th and 11th, the rate is 83%.

In the region closest to the event’s location, such as the neighborhoods of Barra da Tijuca and São Conrado, hotels register 84% occupancy.

According to HotelsRIO, there will be approximately 360,000 people from outside Rio over the seven days of the event. Of these, 10,000 will be foreigners from 31 different countries.

“The festival is named after Rio de Janeiro and brings a lot of joy to us, especially to the tourism sector. Let the rockers come to the city of rock”, said the president of HotéisRIO, Alfredo Lopes.

In the last edition of the festival, in 2019, the first week had an average occupancy of 78%, higher than that recorded in the 2017 edition, which was 75%.

The second week of Rock in Rio in 2019 reached 87% of rooms booked, a rate also higher than that recorded in 2017, when the rate was 82%.
