Robot-Marathon runners: Historical moment in Beijing with the first humanoid race against athletes

Dozens of humanoid robots have ran today (19/4) in Beijing, the world’s first half marathon dedicated to them. It took place in “e-town”, a technology development zone in the Chinese capital, where regular athletes also participated. Listening to the pistol on the starting line of the 21km race, under the sound of pop music playing by the loudspeakers, the robots began to take their first steps. On the other side of the road, the people involved ran to a separate track, took off their mobile phones to capture the robots. A small fallen on the ground, eventually got up alone after a few minutes – under the cheers of the crowd.
