Star Robert De Niro seemed excited to have his friend and former co-star Al Pacino join him in the “senior dad club”.
De Niro, who is 79, had a daughter in April, named Gia, with girlfriend Tiffany Chen.
During a press conference on Wednesday (31) for the Tribeca Film Festival, De Niro was asked about the news that Pacino, 83, is about to become a father again with Noor Alfallah, who is 29.
“Big man!”, De Niro told People magazine and added: “Go Al, God bless you.”
But it seems that De Niro may have misunderstood the question, as the next day, during an appearance on “Today,” the actor appeared to have believed that baby Pacino had already arrived.
“Listen, Al Pacino just had a baby, I was told yesterday morning,” said De Niro. “He is a few years older than me. God bless you. Very happy for him”.
However, there is no indication that the baby was born.
De Niro and Pacino starred in several projects together over the years, including “The Godfather II”, “Fire Against Foga” and “The Irishman”.
Pacino’s rep confirmed the news to several media outlets, including People, The Hollywood Reporter and E!.
