The Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro will be the stage, this Monday (28), of a Seventh -day Mass in honor of Jorge Mario Bergoglio, Pope Francis .
The event, promoted by the government in partnership with the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro, will take place from 18h and will be open to the public.
The liturgical celebration will be presided by Dom Antonio Luiz Catelan Ferreira, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese, as Archbishop Dom Orani João Tempesta complies official commitments in the Vatican, where must participate in the conclave .
During Mass, the Schola Cantorum choir, a traditional choral school of the Catholic Church, will make an exciting presentation with a sacred repertoire in honor of the deceased pontiff.
According to the government of RJ, the event will be an opportunity for authorities, church members and the population to pay their latest honors to Pope Francis, remembered worldwide for their dedication to social causes, peace and interreligious dialogue.
