Rishi Sunak will visit Northern Ireland ahead of the imminent protocol agreement

There is increasing speculation that an agreement between the UK and the EU on the Northern Ireland Protocol is imminent.

The BBC reported that Sunak last visited Northern Ireland in December, when he met the parties to discuss controversial post-Brexit trade deals for the region.

It is understood that the prime minister will speak to the main political parties again on Friday.

his spokesman said:

”While talks with the EU continue, ministers continue to engage with stakeholders to ensure that any solution resolves practical issues on the ground, meets our overall objectives and safeguards Northern Ireland’s place in the UK’s internal market. ”. The Prime Minister… will travel to Northern Ireland this afternoon to speak to the political parties as part of this engagement process.”

According to the BBC, “if the UK and the EU manage to dot the i’s, the agreement on the Northern Ireland Protocol could be closed early next week”;

The euro has been better of late and has risen against the pound towards the 0.90 area. For now, the support remains and the bulls have re-emerged within the ascending channel.
