The Rio Negro’s gutter in Manaus, the capital of Amazonas, reached a flood quota of 27.56 meters, this Monday (28). Monitoring is performed daily by the State Civil Defense.
The city goes into a state of attention for the overflow of the Rio Negro. Fulls affect some areas of the city of Manaus, such as the nearest neighborhoods of the waterfront, are affected.
According to Brazil’s Geological Service (SGB), the flood phase is still underway. The SGB warns of the preparation of the population for the flood period, with the need for mitigation actions to be adopted by civil defenses and city halls.
Next Wednesday (30), the SGB will disclose the 2nd Full Alert of the 2025 Amazonas Basin.
