Rio de Janeiro has flooding points and remains on danger alert for rain

According to the Rio de Janeiro City Hall Operations Center, the rains that hit the city caused disruption this Tuesday (23). There were at least 22 active flooding points in the afternoon.

Due to the weather conditions, Rio is on danger alert by the National Institute of Meteorology until Wednesday (24). Volumes exceeding 100 millimeters are expected in some regions.

In Tijuca, city hall teams had to occupy a lane of the road towards Maracanã, at Rua José Higino, to repair the guardrail on the Maracanã River that collapsed due to the rain.

In the Rocinha region, in the last 24 hours, 86 millimeters of rain were recorded. In the Botanical Garden, it was 67 millimeters, the largest so far, according to the Rio City Hall Alert System.
