Irreconcilable differences: this would be the reason that caused the divorce between Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef, announced last month. In reality, it is not a matter of a decision born out of nowhere, but a very thoughtful one according to what the artist revealed during an interview with Telemundo; even for several years: “We have been planning this situation for a long time, it dates back to before the pandemic,” he said.
Certainly not an easy choice also in consideration of the two children – Lucia and Renn – that the couple has together. And, precisely in relation to the two children, Ricky Martin explained that the period of crisis they went through before the divorce was never made clear in front of the little ones in the house and that if anything the quarrels took place in their bedroom. 51 years old Martin (with two other children they had while pregnant for others), 38 Yosef, in the near future they intend to raise them together and are preparing everything so that there is joint custody.
A divorce, the one between Martin and Yosef, which is the result of a long painful period to which the singer refers but which now does not seem to have left any traces of hatred between the two: «Jwan and I will always be a family» he said ; adding that the relationship would be more than friendly: “We look into each other’s eyes and smile, we hug, we face the ups and downs, we cry together, we laugh together”.
After seven or eight years of relationship (the wedding was celebrated in 2017), Ricky Martin now says he is open to new love possibilities: «I want to feel good, I want to enjoy life. Let’s take it slow, but yes, I see myself in a new relationship. I’m not talking about a near future, but I like being in love, I like relationships”. Yes, with everything that comes with it, from waking up next to the person you love, to breakfasts together and complicity.
During the interview with Telemundo, Martin also mentioned the allegations – later withdrawn – of harassment received by his nephew in recent months, saying he was especially concerned about the pain his parents, who are no longer very young, had to experience. But beyond this, the actor seemed serene and confident in his imminent professional and sentimental future.
