The Civil Police of São Paulo opened an investigation to investigate the case of rape, psychological violence against women and domestic violence, reported by Ingrid Santa Rita, participant of Blind Marriage: A New Chance, on the afternoon of last Wednesday (10), in Osasco, metropolitan region of São Paulo.
According to the São Paulo Public Security Department, Ingrid appeared at the Osasco Women’s Defense Department and told the officers what happened. In addition to an emergency protective measure, the police requested tests from the Forensic Medical Institute.
In a video posted on social media, Ingrid said she would resolve the case in court and accused her ex-husband, Leandro Marçal, of rape. The two met and got married during the fourth season of the reality show, which aired between June and July, but they separated.
“We had many relationships, yes, consensual. (…) The abuse, the rape, that’s the word, people, started happening from the moment I had this conversation with him. Leandro waited for me to fall asleep so he could try to solve his problem. In his mind, if he could have sex with me, we wouldn’t have any more problems. But he forgot that he needed to tell me, that it had to be consensual,” she said.
The São Paulo Civil Police pointed out that details of the investigation will be preserved due to the nature of the incident.
Participant reported abuse during episode
On the day she made the complaint, the reality show reunion episode, in which she reported the incident for the first time, aired. Ingrid said that her daughters found her “having a panic attack and begging for the love of God” that her husband not touch her body.
