Repatriates: Federal Government receives 80 more Brazilians from the USA

The federal government received this Friday (25) more repatriad Brazilians from the United States. The group landed in Fortaleza and continued in FAB flight to Confins Airport in Minas Gerais.

According to the government, the operation involves medical care, social assistance, logistical support and distribution of tickets to return to origin cities.

The work is coordinated by ministries and federal agencies, with the support of the SUS National Force, which has already performed More than 700 calls since the beginning of the action .


The flight occurred after the determination of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT).

According to the federal government, the purpose of the operation is to offer a decent and humanized reception to the repatrias. The action also provides for contact with family members and, in specific cases, offer of temporary institutional reception.

“Most are unaccompanied men. We also have three family groups, people who arrive in Brazil with a prospect of resuming lives, finding friends and family and rebuilding the social and economic condition within the country,” said Ricardo Collar, director of human rights promotion of the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship.
