More than six thousand artists have already needed to move to the institution that takes care of the elderly in a difficulty: the RETIRE OF ARTISTS . Among residents who have already passed there and died while living in the space homes are Claudio Corrêa and Castro, Maria Lúcia Dahl, Edyr de Castro, among others .

The actor is known for his role as Norman Castor, in TV Globo soap opera “O Cravo e A Rosa”, from 2000, and for more than 50 participation in leaflets.

Claudio joined the cast of productions such as “The Prophet” (1977), “Dancin ‘Days” (1978), “The Cat ate” (1985), “Sinhá Moça” (1986), “Vale Tudo” (1988), “Queen of the Sucata” (1990), “God Acuda” (1992), “The King of Gado” (1998), “1998) “Hope” (2002), among others.

His last role on the small screen was by Dr. Afonso, Josefa’s lawyer, played by Marília Gabriela, in the 2004 soap opera “Senhora do Destiny”.

Corrêa and Castro moved to the artists’ retreat in 2003 and died of multiple organ failure after cardiac surgery in August 2005.

One of the historical names of Brazilian cinema, the artist acted in over 60 films, in addition to at least a dozen soap operas. Pereio began his career in film in 1964 in the feature film “The Fuzis”, directed by Ruy Guerra.

However, his first recognition came in 1975 in the movie “The Love Adventures of a Baker”, for which he received Kikito as a “best supporting actor” at the Gramado Festival.

Marked in pornochanchada films, the actor was also one of the main representatives of Cinema Novo, a Brazilian film movement that emerged in the 1960s and sought to create a more realistic and critical cinema in relation to Brazilian society.

Pereio was married for about 15 years to actress and presenter Cissa Guimarães, with whom she had two children – Tomás and João Guimarães.

He moved to the artists’ retreat in 2020 where he lived until 2024, when he died at the age of 83.

Dirce Migliaccio

Consecrated by Emilia’s role in the first version of “Yellow Picapau Site” in 1977, Dirce debuted on television on TV Tupi, in the soap opera “Nino, The Italianinho”, in 1969.

At the station, he was known to interpret Judicéia Cajazeira, one of the Cajazeira sisters, in the 1973 leaflet “The Bem”. In addition, he made appearances in “Sai de Baixo” (1996), “The Comedy of Private Life” (1996 and 1997), and “Under New Direction” (2004).

His last soap opera was “Da Color do Sin” in 2004 on TV Globo.

Dirce moved to the artists’ retreat in 2008 and died about a year later, at age 75, a victim of pneumonia and urinary tract infection.

Maria Lúcia Dahl

The actress was one of the muses of Brazilian television between the 1970s and 1980s. Her name was marked by the participation in soap operas such as “Dancin ‘Days” (1978), “Bambolê” (1987), “Rebel years” (1992), “Salsa and Meringue” (1996), “Tower of Babel” (1998) and “Cobras & Lagaros” (2006).

His last participation in the small screen was in the “That Kiss” newsletter in 2011.

She lived for two years at the artists’ retreat and passed away June 2022, at the age of 80, due to kidney and Alzheimer’s complications.

Lafayette Galvão

The miner artist worked in several TV Globo soap operas, such as “The Viagem” (1994) “Mandacaru” (1997), “Terra Nostra” (1999), “The House of Seven Women” (2003), “America” (2005) and “War and Peace” (2008).

His last television work was in “Malhação Id” in 2009, a season in which he played Emilio.

Galvão went to live in the artists’ retreat in 2017, where he stayed for two years. He passed away in June 2019 at the age of 83 due to complications of a pulmonary sepsis.

CARMÉLIA ALVES


The singer was called by Luis Gonzaga by the nickname Queen of Baião. She was successful in the 1950s with the song “Sabiá na Cage”, “Tonight Shorten”, “Swollen Head” and “Recreating the Bitter”.

Carmélia died in November 2012, at the age of 89, and her body of the singer was veiled in the artists’ retreat, where she lived about two years ago.

Edyr de Castro


The actress and singer was part of the group As Frantics, Girl Group Brazilian formed in 1977, owner of the hits “Dancin ‘Days”, “Fall in Gandaia” and “Dangerous”.

Edyr worked on the soap operas “Slave Isaura” (1976), “For Love” (1997), “Roque Santeiro” (1985), “Cabocla” (2004), “Sinhá Moça” (2006), all from TV Globo. His last work on the small screen was “parallel power” in 2009.

She went to live in the artists’ retreat in 2011, where she lived until her death in January 2019 at the age of 72. She had faced symptoms of Alzheimer’s eight years ago and was the victim of multiple organ failure.
