The Spanish series “Red Queen ” debuts, this Thursday (29), on Prime Video . The production is original to the platform and is based on the first book in the trilogy of Juan Gómez-Jurado “Reina Roja”.
It is a thriller starring Antonia Scott, played by Vicky Luengo. The character has already helped solve a series of crimes thanks to her unusual intelligence, which qualified her to be the “Red Queen”.
After the death of her husband, Antonia needs to rethink her decision to no longer work in solving crimes because she receives an invitation from police officer Jon Gutiérrez, played by Hovik Keuchkerian, to be part of a secret and experimental project.
“Red Queen” is executive produced by Amaya Muruzábal, who wrote the script with Salvador Perpiñá. The general direction is by Koldo Serra, from “La Casa de Papel“.
The book that originated the series, “Reina Roja”, is the first in a trilogy that also includes “Loba Negra” and “Rey Blanco”, which indicates that the series may debut with new seasons in progress.
