Former Goldman Sachs executive Raoul Pal compared the pace of Internet adoption in its early years to the adoption of cryptocurrencies since 2016, when the number of users reached one million for the first time.

Real Vision CEO Raoul Pal (Real Vision) is confident that now the number of cryptocurrency users may well exceed four billion. According to Pal's calculations, the Internet became the fastest growing technology the world had ever seen, with the number of users growing by about 76% per year, and then, eight years after its introduction, by 43% per year.

“Cryptocurrencies are growing at 137% per year. If you compare crypto assets and the Internet at a certain stage of development, then cryptocurrencies have 516 million users versus 187 million Internet users,” Pal said.

The crypto enthusiast suggested that by the end of 2025, $1.1 billion people will own cryptocurrencies, and at the beginning of the new decade this number will grow to four billion users. This is half the world's population.

Late last year, Raoul Pal expressed confidence that Ethereum could perform better than Bitcoin, despite the emergence of spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States. Pal recently suggested that Bitcoin would trade at $250,000 in the near term.
