Three people were arrested during a Civil Police operation in Eldorado do Sul (RS), in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, this Friday morning (28). The action aimed to combat theft and robberies carried out during the period of extreme rain that hit the municipality.
Seven arrest and search and seizure warrants were executed. The names of those arrested were not released. According to the delegate responsible for the case, the main targets of the action are linked to the Eldorado do Sul City Council and also worked as volunteers for the city’s Civil Defense.
One of the targets was charged with robbery, while the other two were charged with aggravated robbery. The investigations also indicate that the suspects committed the crimes using the identification of a public body, as well as materials that should have been used to help the population to join companies in the municipality.
In this way, the three suspects stole and stole items, which resulted in a loss of millions to the owners of the corporations.
According to the Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul, in the first phase of the operation, which took place at the beginning of May, ten people were arrested and tons of stolen and stolen materials were seized.
