The rains that have been hitting Rio Grande do Sul since the weekend have already caused damage in at least 26 municipalities. According to the National Civil Defense, 95 people are homeless and 54 have been displaced.
In cities in the south of the state, there is a forecast of heavy rain, storms with electrical discharges and possible river overflows.
Why is it raining again in RS?
Rio Grande do Sul begins the week on alert for a large accumulation of rain. A cold front is parked in the state and cannot advance over the country due to a mass of hot air in the central strip of Brazil, which blocks the humidity.
According to Climatempo, this clash between hot and cold air masses intensifies instability, which could generate strong storms in Rio Grande do Sul.
