STF judges this Wednesday (3) actions on changes in improbity law
The plenary of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) judges this Wednesday (3) actions that question parts of the new law of administrative improbity. The actions are reported by Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
The judgment will review changes made last year by Congress.
In practice, in one of the actions, the ministers will decide whether it is possible for the changes in the law to be applied retroactively to the statute of limitations for compensation actions.
Technical area of the TSE grants access to the source codes of the ballot boxes to military personnel
The technical area of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) granted access to the source codes of the electronic voting machines to technicians from the Ministry of Defense. The folder said it will go to court at 10 am this Wednesday (3).
Earlier, the folder asked for access to the source codes of electronic voting machines and data from previous court cases. This time, it stipulated until August 12 to receive the information, according to the ministry, due to the “short time available until voting day” for this year’s elections for the Armed Forces to analyze the information.
STF ministers see “pyrotechnics” in Bolsonaro’s call for September 7
Members of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) classified the new sequence of criticisms by President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) of ministers of the Court as an “act of desperation” and called the president’s attempt to transform, once again, the Seven of September in a political act against institutions, especially the Supreme Court and the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
The assessment of ministers made to the CNN it is the one that, since Bolsonaro’s meeting with ambassadors and the sequence of reactions to the event, has consolidated the perception that there is no room for any act against institutionality.
There is a majority within the Court the perception that, contrary to what the president would like to believe, the speeches against the Judiciary are no longer supported by the top of the Armed Forces.
In meeting with Taiwan president, Pelosi says US ‘will not abandon’ island
US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she wanted to make it “unambiguously clear” that the US will not abandon Taiwan, in a speech at the presidential office in Taipei on Wednesday.
“Today, our delegation came to Taiwan to make it unequivocally clear that we will not abandon our commitment to Taiwan and we are proud of our enduring friendship,” Pelosi said, alongside President Tsai Ing-wen, after receiving Taiwan’s highest civilian honor.
“Now more than ever, America’s solidarity with Taiwan is crucial and that is the message we are bringing here today,” she said. “I look forward to displaying this honor in the (House) Presidential Office, or using it on Capitol Hill as a symbol of our precious friendship,” Pelosi said of the civil honor.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi attacked US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday, calling her visit to Taiwan a “complete farce” and warning that “those who play with fire shall perish”.
“The United States is violating China’s sovereignty under the guise of democracy,” Wang told reporters during a meeting with ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) foreign ministers in Cambodia.
