Putin’s minute-by-minute speech after Prigozhin’s appearance

The president of Russia Vladimir Putin is going to address the Russian people tonight, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a statement.

Russia has been in turmoil since the mutiny of the Wagner group and its leader Prigozhin who announced a “march for Justice” by his fighters against the military leadership, which he said were “cowards undermining its war effort” of Russia in Ukraine”.

Under the deal, as presented by the Kremlin spokesman, criminal charges against the rebels would be dropped in exchange for their return to the barracks and Prigozhin would go to Belarus.

Prigozhin appeared

In an 11-minute video on Telegram, Yevgeny Prigozhin appeared after days of absence and said that Wagner did not mutiny to overthrow Putin, but to defend her interests.

“We’re sorry we spilled Russian blood,” he said, according to the BBC, but did not specify where he was. At the same time, he emphasized that “we did not march to overthrow Putin”.
