A brown jaguar was rescued, this Monday morning (7), inside a house in Santana do Paraíso, in the interior of Minas Gerais.
According to the Minas Gerais Fire Department (CBMMG), agents from the corporation were initially called to rescue a jaguar, but upon arriving at the scene they discovered that it was a brown jaguar. See video below .
The animal was cornered in one of the rooms of the house, at the end of a narrow corridor.
According to the military, the jaguar was quiet, lying at the back of one of the rooms. However, to ensure a safe capture for both the military and the animal, they contacted the Usipa Biodiversity Center (CEBUS), so that the animal could be sedated and the military could safely approach it.
To ensure that the jaguar did not escape, a fence was placed in the corridor to contain it.
After the arrival of veterinarians, the jaguar was sedated using tranquilizer darts. After falling asleep, the animal was safely transported to CEBUS, where it underwent examinations, received treatment and will now be taken to a suitable location.
