Public can vote for the People's Choice Award; understand how it works

Created in 1975 by producer Bob Stivers, the People's Choice Award is the most recent awards show in the entertainment industry. Unlike all others, the ceremony takes into account 100% popular opinion.

Bringing together artists from cinema, TV and the music industry in a single party, the PCA — as it is also known — is completely different from other more traditional awards.

Instead of defining the winners through specialized criticism, it allows the public to choose the winners from their 45 categories .

During a certain period, the awards open online voting to people over 18 years of age, who need to register via an email address and thus vote once a day for their favorite candidates.

In some countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, among others in Latin and Central America, the People's Choice Award gain an additional category open only to voters in that area through geographic segmentation.

However, if any competitor goes against the award rules, the PCA reserves the right to disqualify any finalist or potential winner, at any time before or during the ceremony.
