Audience will be able to visit Pope Francis’ body in St. Peter’s Basilica from Wednesday (23) until Friday (25), according to the Vatican statement.
Catholic faithful and the general public will be able to visit the following times and days:
- Wednesday (23) -11h00 to midnight, local time (from 6am to 7pm Brasília time)
- Thursday (24) -7h00 to midnight, local time (from 2am to 7pm Brasília time)
- Friday (25) – 7h00 to 19h00, local time (from 2h to 14h in Brasília time)
The Holy See said on Tuesday (22) that Pope Francis’ funeral will begin next Saturday (26), in the Basilica of St. Peter, from 10am, local time, (5h in Brasilia).
The pontiff’s body will be taken to the basilica on Wednesday morning at 9am (local time), 4am in Brasilia, the Vatican said in a statement.
Francisco is currently in a coffin in the chapel of Santa Marta residence, where he lived during his 12 years of papacy.
