Projects worth 7 billion euros are coming in 2022

The program of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport is in progress, with a total amount of 13 billion, with projects totaling 6 billion (9 road projects and 6 railway projects as well as Metro line 4) to have been auctioned in 2021 and additional projects of 7 billion. to be planned to be implemented in the new year.

A large budget of 4 billion euros concerns projects for the upgrading of ports as well as major railway projects.

In fact, new tenders are already on the air, with the most important ones concerning the connection of the train with the ports of Patras, Lavrio, Rafina, Thessaloniki, Kavala and Alexandroupolis.

At the same time, three more important infrastructure projects are expected to be auctioned in the first months of 2022.

These are the Bypass of Chalkida and Psachna, the connection of Kymi Avenue with PATHE, Bralos – Amfissa and Hersonissos – Neapoli of BOAK, with a total budget of over 1 billion euros.

The beginning is to be made with the project “NORTH ROAD AREA OF CRETE / STUDY, CONSTRUCTION, FINANCING, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE PENINSULA – NEAPOLI DEPARTMENT. . The PPP contract will last for 30 years, with 4 of them relating to its construction period.
The project has a total budget of 350 million euros.

One of the most mature projects in the country, that of the Chalkida Bypass and Psachna Bypass, for which the Ministry of Infrastructure is launching its construction, aims to improve the connection of Athens and Chalkida with northern Evia, in the decongestion of the urban fabric of Chalkida, budget of EUR 150 million.

The budget of the “Bralos – Afissa Road” of the diagonal axis Ladia – Itea – Antirrio amounts to 285 million euros, part of the Diagonal Road “Laia – Itea – Antirrio” is “E-65”, is the connecting axis between the PATHE Motorways and the IONIAN ROAD and serves a number of local and wider Movements from Central and Northern Greece to areas of the Western and Southern country.

In addition, shortly before the expiration of 2021, binding offers were submitted for both new PPP road projects and the Flyover of Thessaloniki.

The project “Upgrading of the Eastern Inner Peripheral of Thessaloniki to S.P.I.T.” or Flyover, provides for the construction of improvement and upgrade projects of the Eastern Inner Ring Road of Thessaloniki, with a budget of 373 million euros.

Regarding the project “Design, Construction, Financing, Operation and Maintenance of the Road Axis Southwest Peloponnese, Department Kalamata – Rizomylos – Pylos – Methoni, with PPP.” includes the construction and upgrade of the National Road Kalamata – Rizomylos – Pylos and Pylos – Methoni, with a total length of about 50km and has a budget of 251 million euros.

Also on the starting line is the Patras – Pyrgos project, while the plan of the Ministry of Transport includes flood protection projects of 1.5 billion euros with the largest part (430 million euros) related to flood protection actions in Attica, Thessaloniki and Corinth .

The construction of 18 dams and irrigation projects with a budget of 750 million euros has been included in the Recovery Fund.
