Princess Charlotte: all the nicknames

She could become a queen: she is currently third in line to the throne. But, for dad William and mom Kate, the little one Princess Charlotte, 8 years old, she is above all their little girl. And, like all parents, they too have adopted a series of affectionate and exclusive nicknames to address their daughter.

To the Royal Chelsea Flower Show of 2019, the royal couple were joined by children while visiting the garden Back to Nature. On that occasion, William named his daughter Charlotte «slut»which in French means “small, sweet and delicate”, but also “cute”.

Kate also used another nickname for little Princess Charlotte. When the two of them together, with their older brother George, went Christmas shopping, in 2019, at The Rangeand the little girl sat down on the floor of the shop, her mother said to her: «Get up, little doll (poppet)”.

Yet another time, in 2020, when a subject explained to Kate that he had a four-year-old daughter, the Princess of Wales replied: «Oh, she has the same age as Lottie». The influencer Laura-Ann Barr also revealed that the Princess of Wales called the baby Lottie during the visit to the Windsor Park stadium in Northern Ireland.

Mignonette, Poppet and Lottie are the nicknames of the little girl, who often accompanies her parents during their public commitments, from tours abroad and to important events such as Trooping the Colourthe Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and the coronation of King Charles.

But it’s not just Charlotte that the royals refer to with affectionate terms of endearment. Prince Charles called Meghan Markle “Tungsten” because he “admires her strength”, Prince William called the late Queen “Gary” and, apparently, the Prince George addresses his father as “Dad”. Harry and William, as we read in Sparethey call each other «Harold» and «Willy».
