A Slovenian priest who is said to be close to the Pope was accused of inviting two nuns to participate in a trio.
Marko Ivan Rupnik, 68 years old today, was charged according to the Daily Mail from a former nun that he used “psycho-spiritual” control over her some three decades ago to even have group sex with her and watch porn movies.
At the time of the allegations, Rupnik was spiritual director of a convent in Slovenia and the former nun, now 58, has described how her complaints against him were ignored.
Rupnik is now at the center of a scandal that has engulfed the Jesuits, a Catholic order of priests and brothers whose members include Pope Francis.
The former nun told the Italian investigative newspaper Domani: “Father Marco slowly and sweetly began to enter my psychological and spiritual world, exploiting my insecurities and using my relationship with God to push me into sexual experiences with him.”
The nun claimed that Rupnik had sex with her and had intimidated her into silence. In fact, she claimed that her priest had asked her and another nun to have sex with him, saying that they would reproduce the relationship between God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
She said she believed Rupnik had abused up to 20 women.
“It was really an abuse of conscience,” said the nun who believes the priest abused about 20 women.
Her allegations prompted Pope Francis’ Jesuit order on Sunday to ask other victims to file complaints against Rupnik.
