On the afternoon of this Wednesday (17), a Federal Highway Police agent and an accomplice were arrested for transporting 326 bricks of cocaine and crack in a hidden compartment in the floor of a vehicle. The police action took place on Rodovia SP-270, in the municipality of Assis, in the interior of São Paulo.
According to police, the suspects were detained during a routine patrol, when officers spotted a tow truck transporting a vehicle. When approaching the car's occupants, both showed nervousness and tried to avoid the vehicle's gaze.
Given the suspicious behavior, the agents decided to carry out a thorough search.
The agent claimed that the vehicle had broken down, thus justifying the need for a tow truck. However, upon inspecting the car, the police noticed a loose compartment on the floor.
The police action resulted in the discovery of 198 bricks of cocaine and 128 bricks of crack, totaling 338.6 kilos of narcotic substances.
According to the police, the individuals confessed to the police that they would receive payment for delivering the drugs, with the city of São Paulo as their final destination, after leaving Toledo, in Paraná.
The vehicle and drugs were seized, and the pair were taken to the Assis Sectional Police Station to provide information to the authorities.
