Singer Preta Gil, 49, said this Tuesday (22) that the removal of the tumor, through a total abdominal hysterectomy, was a success and her body is completely free of cancer cells.
On her Instagram, the artist published a video to explain that the surgery was delicate and, therefore, the result came out only on Monday (21).
“Surgery was very successful. Complex, big, but successful. Only yesterday we had her result, because the material went for pathological analysis. And the result came that yes, my body is free of ‘cancerous’ cells”, revealed Preta.
Despite the total removal of the tumor, Gilberto Gil’s daughter revealed that she still needs to undergo other processes before definitively curing the disease.
“The surgery was a success, we had a total removal of the tumor with a margin, and that means that: at the moment, my body is free of these cells [cancerígenas]. But, the cure, the process, still involves rehabilitation that I have to do for the functioning of my sphincter, for example, ”said the singer, who will need to use a provisional colostomy bag for the next three months.
“I will continue to take care of myself, taking care of healthy habits so that this disease does not come back. I am very happy, ”she added.
Preta Gil also took the opportunity to thank her doctors and fans. “So grateful to my doctors, to God, to my family, to my fans, to my friends, to people who don’t know me who have sent me prayers from every corner of this world. It was something very strong, I’m sure that like chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, love also healed me. I love you, ”she finished.
