The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will attend Pope Francis’ funeral on Saturday (26), said her office on Tuesday (22).
Among other heads of state that would attend were Javier Milei, president of Argentina, Francisco’s home country, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
United States President Donald Trump had already said that he and his wife would fly to Rome for the ceremony.

The official European Commission account published on social networks on Monday (21) that the flags are raised in half mast in memory of Pope Francis.
