The samba school Porto da Pedra was demoted to the Rio de Janeiro Gold Series , this Wednesday (14). When receiving the lowest scores in the Special Group which took place in Samba City she occupied last place in the carnival classification.
This year, none of the 12 associations suffered a penalty, which meant that they began voting on an equal footing.
Despite this, Porto da Pedra only scored 264.9 points. In turn, Viradouro became the champion of the Rio de Janeiro Carnival, totaling 270.0 points .
On the samba catwalk, Porto da Pedra had Tati Minerato as queen of the drums, presenting the theme “Perpetual Lunar: The Prophetic of Popular Knowledge” , which was inspired by the almanac written in 1594 by Jerônimo Cortés. This was the school's first parade in the Rio Special Group since 2012.
Understand the evaluation criteria
This year, samba schools were evaluated by 36 jurors which are divided between nine questions, which are Master Room and Flag Bearer , Allegory and Prop , Battery , Front commission , Plot , Evolution , Costumes , Harmony It is Samba-plot .
Read one by one, the scores are added up, with the lowest of them discarded, and the school that occupies the last position in the classification is demoted to the Gold Series, for which it will parade at the following Carnival.
